Two ministries will introduce specific measures to prevent and control "small glasses"
In order to prevent and control youth myopia, the Ministry of Education, together with the National Health Commission and other relevant departments, has begun to implement a number of policies. At the beginning of this month, the two ministries played a "combination of blows" and jointly drafted the "Implementation Plan for Comprehensive Prevention and Control of Myopia in children and Adolescents (Draft for Comments)" to solicit public opinions. At present, the consultation phase has ended, and the program will be officially issued and implemented in the near future. And parents need to find the right eyeglass mart for children to buy their eyeglassed.
The implementation plan not only clarifies the responsibilities of families, schools and health institutions, but also puts forward a series of specific measures. For example, actively guide children to outdoor activities or physical exercise, no written homework in the first and second grades of primary school, the completion time of written homework in the third to sixth grades shall not exceed 60 minutes, and strictly control the number of school examinations in the compulsory education stage.
It is worth noting that the draft also specifically mentions that children and adolescents' physical and mental health and schoolwork load should be included in the national compulsory education quality monitoring and evaluation system, and local governments and schools that have seen children's physical health levels decline for three consecutive years will be held accountable according to law and regulations.

The results showed that 78.96% of the students in Beijing were myopic, and 7.09% were highly myopic. The report also shows that heavy schoolwork and addiction to electronic products have become the two main "killers" of teenagers' eyesight.
