Soft glans syndrome can be defined as a condition of sexual arousal where the corpora cavernosa of the penis achieves full erection, while the corpus spongiosum and the glans penis remain soft and cool. This discrepancy adversely affects both the visual aspect of the erect penis and the ability to achieve penetration during sexual activity. There is a lack of epidemiological studies regarding the prevalence of this condition. Many healthcare professionals do not inquire about whether the glans penis becomes engorged and firm during sexual arousal when assessing patients with sexual dysfunction. Notably, the most widely used psychometrically validated measures of male sexual arousal do not include questions about glans engorgement or firmness.
